Lucid Designs
is selected to work on the 1999 website for the National Academy of
Recording Arts & Sciences.
Lucid
Designs has been selected by the National Academy of Recording Arts
and Sciences to implement several new features on their upcoming
website. The Academy has a tradition of updating the look of their
pages on an annual basis. This year, they decided to add a searchable
online database of GRAMMY winners, several mailing lists for site
users, and an improved polling application.
The
task of implementing these features, as well as migrating the site
to new servers, is being performed by Lucid Designs. The development
process will involve the creation of several custom built server
applications, and heavy modification of other, existing application
software. The new site is due to launch on August 30th, 1999.
"We
are very excited to be working on this project for the Academy,"
said Chris Lea, Senior Technologist for Lucid Designs. "The Academy
has a longstanding tradition of delivering useful information about
music and the musical arts to the public. The opportunity we have
to assist them with this goal in the on-line area is highly valued."
