11.07.2000 Lucid Designs co-founder Chris Lea authors chapter on XML for WROX Chris Lea, co-founder and Senior Technologist for Lucid Designs, has completed the chapter on XML for the "Begninning PHP4" book from WROX Press (ISBN: 1-861003-73-0) now available at Amazon.com. These highly regarded books stress a "Programmer to Programmer" approach, allowing real world developers to illustrate practical working examples to their peers. Here, Chris' contribution to the publication was an introduction to XML (the eXtensible Markup Language,) an overview of PHP4's XML functionality, and several small applications designed to illustrate the basic principles covered. "We've been using the PHP scripting language, along with a number of other high quality open-source products, for quite some time now," says Chris. "It offers a lot of functionality along with a simple API for rapid development. I had a lot of fun explaining some of these features, since we use them so frequently for our clients." Keep an eye out for more of Chris' work on future WROX publications.
